The nesting 4-leg design gives the Nomad a smaller footprint than the Woodlanders, making it a good option for small spaces where a fireproof hearth area is used to reduce required clearances.

As these stoves are designed to be portable, they are not fully sealed. With interior use, caution and steps must be taken to avoid stove leakage:
- Regularly clean the spark arrestor and flue.
- Open the door slowly.
- Never fully close the damper valve.
- A Kevlar door seal can be added.
- The top hatch can be covered by a pan, or sealed with fire cement.
- Dry, seasoned wood is needed.
